Traveling Troupe Brings Smiles to the Elderly

The Yeshivah of Flatbush Traveling Troupe recently went to a nursing home to cheer up its residents. The traveling troupe is a student run committee that plays music at nursing homes and old age homes. The high school students use their musical talents to do chesed and entertain the residents. It is an amazing feeling, watching the elderly, smile and sing along as you perform for them. I always love watching the elderly's eyes light up as we play a song that they remember listening to when they were young. One of the patients at the nursing home told us that she felt like a teenager again while we were playing those old songs. Performing at these nursing homes is always the highlight of our week and we always look forward to out next trip, where we can make more people smile. ~Michael Goldstein, Class of 2017
